Exceptional impact resistance

Product description

High-efficiency (140%) synthetic basic electrode for the hardfacing of parts generally subject to very high impact loads. Sometimes used (replacing 18/8 Mn) for joining 13% Mn steels (Hadfield steels), and for heterogeneous joining between manganese steels and mild structural steels. Very interesting as an underlay before hardfacing, when high thicknesses need to be deposited! Allows you to restore the desired volume to the part, then finish the hardfacing with one or two HBA or HB 63 passes. The fully austenitic deposit is exceptionally resistant to impact and wear, thanks to its work-hardening properties. The hardness of the deposit thus obtained rises from 200-250 Brinell (in the as-welded state), to 400-500 Brinell (after work-hardening). The Nickel and Chromium present greatly increase resistance to cracking and abrasion.

Main applications:

Repair of worn parts or protection of new parts, railway industry (rails, frogs, switches), quarries and mines (crusher jaws, dredger buckets, beaters, waste treatment, wood and stone crushers, armor plating, etc.).

Why choose this basic electrode?

Vacuum-packed 5 or 6Kg electrode for welding highly stressed steel assemblies (carbon and carbon manganese) (tensile strength up to 510 MPa).

It features excellent mechanical properties, particularly at low temperatures.
