HF 31S
Extra-hard hardfacing electrode
Product description
Basic-coated hardfacing electrode with very high efficiency (190%). Its carbon and chromium content gives the deposit exceptional abrasion resistance: wear resistance of parts hardfaced with HBA can be up to 50 times greater than that of conventional electrodes of identical hardness. Ferritic matrix with chromium carbide, moderate impact resistance. Weld in 1 or 2 layers maximum, pleasant melting, good metal spread, no slag, very smooth bead. For all parts subject to low to moderate impact where high abrasion resistance is required. Can only be machined by grinding. Crack formation on deposited metal is normal for this type of deposit and is not detrimental to service life. Auger reloading, mixer blades, abrasive material pump bodies, bucket teeth, mineral crushing plants, concrete pumps, ore crushers, ploughshares, clod breakers, brick press screws, armor plates…

Why choose this basic electrode?
Vacuum-packed 5 or 6Kg electrode for welding highly stressed steel assemblies (carbon and carbon manganese) (tensile strength up to 510 MPa).
It features excellent mechanical properties, particularly at low temperatures.
