Why choose ABRAFIL 309LSi?
1. Applications on dissimilar steels
-
ABRAFIL 309LSi is perfect for welding stainless steel to mild or low-alloy steel.
-
It acts as a buffer layer between two very different materials (e.g. 304L to S235JR).
2. Excellent corrosion resistance
-
Rich in chromium (~23%) and nickel (~13%), it offers excellent protection against oxidation and corrosion, even at high temperatures.
3. Low carbon (L)
-
This considerably reduces the risk of intergranular corrosion, especially in high-temperature environments.
4. Higher silicon content (Si = Silicon)
-
Si improves the wettability of the melt, giving :
-
Smoother weld seams,
-
More fluidity,
-
Fewer projections.
-
5. For use in manufacturing or repair
-
Very common in boiler making, petrochemicals, maintenance, or the food industry.
