Product description
HASTELLOY® C-22® RTW™ filler metals are used for welding nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys as well as for overlay hardfacing on carbon, low-alloy or stainless steels. They are also used for dissimilar joints between nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys and stainless, carbon or low-alloy steels.
Typical specifications for nickel-chromium-molybdenum base metals are ASTM, F574, B619, B622 and B626. All these specifications carry the UNS number N06022.
It offers excellent corrosion resistance in oxidizing and reducing media in a wide variety of chemical environments. It offers exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice corrosion.
UNS : W86022
Welding of Inconel 622 and 625 alloys, 25-6Mo alloy and Incoloy 825.
Also recommended for welding molybdenum-containing stainless steels, low-alloy steels, Hastelloy C4, C22, C-276 and Inconel 625, 2.4611.

Why choose ABRAFIL C22?
1. Outstanding chemical resistance (superior to C276 in some cases)
-
Resistant to a wide range of highly aggressive corrosive agents: strong acids (sulfuric, hydrochloric, nitric), oxidizing and reducing media.
-
Better resistance to mixed, complex or unstable media than other alloys such as C276.
2. Excellent resistance to chlorides and localized corrosion
Very high resistance to :
-
-
pitting corrosion
-
crevice corrosion
-
chloride-induced stress cracking (SCC)
-
3. Excellent MIG weldability
-
Good arc behavior, clean beads, low spatter, excellent fusion.
-
Also used for dissimilar assemblies, especially with :
-
Stainless steel 316L or 904L
-
Duplex/superduplex
-
Nickel, Inconel, C22, C276, 625…
-
4. Resistance to contamination and high-temperature attack
Ideal for sensitive equipment (e.g. pharmaceuticals, nuclear, semiconductors), where pollution of the base metal cannot be tolerated.
