Why choose ABRAFIL 347?
1. Stabilization against intergranular corrosion
Thanks to the addition of niobium, ABRAFIL 347 prevents the precipitation of chromium carbides in the heat-affected zone (HAZ), thus protecting the weld from intergranular corrosion, particularly after exposure to temperatures between 400 and 800°C.
2. Excellent resistance to prolonged high-temperature service
ABRAFIL 347 outperforms ABRAFIL 308L in high-temperature applications. It retains its mechanical and chemical stability in hot environments (up to approx. 850°C), making it suitable for parts subject to repeated thermal cycling.
3. Good weldability and resistance to cracking
It offers clean melting, good wettability and excellent resistance to hot cracking, making it easy to use in MIG, even for long or repeated welds.
4. Compatible with stainless steel 321, 347, and sometimes 304/304L
It is the recommended wire for welding stabilized stainless steels (type 347 or 321), but can also be used to repair or reinforce conventional austenitic steels when improved heat resistance is required.
5. Ideal for demanding environments
Used in the chemical, petrochemical, energy, exhaust gas, furnace and boiler industries, where parts are subjected to high temperatures, steam or corrosive agents.
