RD 3
Tubular electrode for hardfacing (mineral abrasion)
Product description
Tubular electrode filled with chromium-manganese carbide powder.
Highly resistant to abrasion and mineral erosion, composed of a high proportion of chromium carbides in a very compact ferritic matrix. Can be used at very low current intensities. Very pleasant melting. Excellent metal spread. No milkiness. Smooth, non-machinable bead. Possibility of increasing output by introducing a second electrode into the arc (double the recommended current).
Recharging of all types of austenitic and manganese steels, gray cast iron (without preheating), tool steels and high-alloy steels (in this case, undercoat with a 29/9 or 18/8 Mn electrode). Mainly intended for public works, cement works, quarries, agriculture, brickworks: conveyor belts and screws, clod breakers, brick press screws, armor plates, excavation buckets, etc.

Why choose this basic electrode?
Vacuum-packed 5 or 6Kg electrode for welding highly stressed steel assemblies (carbon and carbon manganese) (tensile strength up to 510 MPa).
It features excellent mechanical properties, particularly at low temperatures.
