Abranel 617

Nickel-based electrode high temperature

Product description

Basic-coated nickel-based electrode with alloyed core. Used for assembly and repair of refractory alloys, and for service temperatures up to 1100°C. The electrode features a soft arc, easily detachable slag and bead appearance identical to that of TIG welding rods.

Main applications:

gas turbines, combustion chambers, furnaces, heat treatment equipment, petrochemicals.

Electrode steaming: 250-300°C/1h. Joints to be welded must be clean and free of grease, cracks, etc. Guide electrodes almost vertically (~ 80°) in relation to the workpiece, keep the arc short, lay pulled beads (maximum sweep 2 times per electrode diameter) to limit heat input. Nickel-base alloys do not require preheating, and an inter-pass temperature of 150°C must be respected. Applied to the repair of steels with a high carbon content, preheating to between 200 and 250°C is required. Heat treatment after welding has no effect on the deposit.

Why choose this basic electrode?

Vacuum-packed 5 or 6Kg electrode for welding highly stressed steel assemblies (carbon and carbon manganese) (tensile strength up to 510 MPa).

It features excellent mechanical properties, particularly at low temperatures.
