Abranel 600S

Inconel assembly and repair electrode

Product description

Alloyed basic electrode, depositing an austenitic Inconel 600 alloy. Used for assembly and repair of Nickel alloys, pure Nickel alloys, 5 and 9% Ni steels, cryogenic steels (down to -196°C) and refractory steels, Inconel 600, Incoloy 800. This electrode is highly effective for assembly and buttering of steels considered difficult or very difficult to weld.

It also has many applications in heterogeneous stainless steel/low-alloy steel and stainless steel/nickel alloy assemblies. Crack-proof deposit. Good resistance to acids, salts and alkaline solutions, molten salts (e.g. cyanides), oxidizing atmospheres and fuels, etc.

(NB: Avoid sulphurous atmospheres).

Applications: Furnace parts, burners, heat treatment chambers and tanks, cement plants (furnace and roller linings), molds for parts, pickling tanks, transport and storage of liquid gases. Chemical industry, glassmaking, petrochemicals, public works, nickel steels, repair and maintenance workshops.

Electrode steaming: 250-300°C/1h. Joints to be welded must be clean and free from grease, cracks, etc. Weld with minimum heat input to eliminate hot cracking. Preheating is unnecessary for homogeneous assemblies. If used on iron bases (high-carbon steels), preheat the base metal (200-450°C, depending on grade) to limit ZAT cracking.

Why choose this basic electrode?

Vacuum-packed 5 or 6Kg electrode for welding highly stressed steel assemblies (carbon and carbon manganese) (tensile strength up to 510 MPa).

It features excellent mechanical properties, particularly at low temperatures.
