Prepare the defects to be repaired: preheat the part to 550 – 650°C and maintain this temperature during welding. Use a fairly high amperage, but without reddening the electrode. Ensure that sufficient base material has melted to guarantee good adhesion. When welding on hot slag, make sure that enough hot molten slag remains to avoid entraining the slag. After welding, heat treat for 2 hours at 900°C followed by 4 hours at 700°C, then cool the welded part in a furnace to obtain a color identical to the base metal and even hardness, even in the ZAT zone.

Why choose this basic electrode?

Vacuum-packed 5 or 6Kg electrode for welding highly stressed steel assemblies (carbon and carbon manganese) (tensile strength up to 510 MPa).

It features excellent mechanical properties, particularly at low temperatures.
