Product description

Graphite-base coated electrode depositing pure nickel metal. Recommended for assembling and repairing gray cast iron, repairing cracks. Used for welding in direct current at the – pole and in alternating current. Homogeneous, machinable deposit, good filler metal adhesion and spreading. Excellent arc stability thanks to very even metal transfer.

Applications: Repairs to engine blocks, machine tool frames, gearboxes, reduction gears, pump bodies, castings, valve bodies.

Keep the heat input between passes as low as possible (max. 70°C) to minimize the risk of base metal cracking (weld with minimum intensity and lay short, narrow beads). To limit internal stresses in the base metal, we recommend hammering the weld bead after each pass (essential for flanged parts). Weld on clean, grease-free surfaces (grind joint beforehand).

Why choose this basic electrode?

Vacuum-packed 5 or 6Kg electrode for welding highly stressed steel assemblies (carbon and carbon manganese) (tensile strength up to 510 MPa).

It features excellent mechanical properties, particularly at low temperatures.
