Product description

Graphite-base coated electrode with a copper core depositing a ferro-nickel alloy (55% Ni – 45% Fe) for assembly and repair of spheroidal graphite or highly stressed cast irons. Particularly recommended for heterogeneous cast-iron/steel joints or flanged cast-iron joints. Good adhesion and spreading of filler metal. The main advantage of this electrode is its exceptional resistance to reddening during welding due to a copper coating on the core. Good operating behavior.

Applications:

Casting defects, repairs to engine blocks, machine tool frames, gearboxes, reduction gears, pump bodies, castings, valve bodies…

Product application instructions

Grey, malleable, nodular cast irons:

NFA 32-101: FGL 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400

NFA 32-201: FGS 370-17, 400-12, 500-7, 600-3, 700-2

NFA 32-702: MN 350-10, 380-18, 450-6, 350-4, 650-3

DIN 1691: CG-14, 18, 25, 30

DIN 1693: GGG-40, 50, 60, 70

DIN 1692: GTS-35, 45, 55, 65, 70

Heat input between passes as low as possible (max. 70°C) to minimize the risk of base metal cracking. Apply short beads of approx. 3 cm and hammer immediately before starting a new bead. Weld on clean, grease-free surfaces (grind joint beforehand).

Why choose this basic electrode?

Vacuum-packed 5 or 6Kg electrode for welding highly stressed steel assemblies (carbon and carbon manganese) (tensile strength up to 510 MPa).

It features excellent mechanical properties, particularly at low temperatures.
