Brazargent 5040

Cadmium-free silver brazing alloy: 40% Ag

Product description

One of the most widely used cadmium-free alloys, whose main components are: copper, zinc, 40% high silver content and tin. This range has been developed to replace alloys with cadmium, where the use of Cd is prohibited. Tin (Sn) lowers melting point, increases fluidity and offers good wetting properties. Good corrosion resistance and non-toxic, it can be used in the hospital and food sectors, in the transport of medical fluids, etc.

Bare rods in Ø 1.5 – 2 – 2.5 – 3 mm, coated rods in Ø1.5 and 2 mm, standard length 500 mm. Also available in wire or preforms.

Product application instructions

This alloy requires controlled cooling to avoid embrittlement of the brazed joint.

General-purpose, it is used for brazing most ferrous, copper and nickel-based alloys, stainless steels and steel tools. Its excellent fluidity and narrow melting range make it suitable for delicate work with small clearances. Suitable for lap joints.

For use with AG-FLUX or as coated rods when brazing in the open air.
