Phosbraz AG50+

Manual soldering: CuP Ag 5% – CuP Ag 5% – CuP Ag 5% – CuP Ag

Product description

The addition of silver to CuP lowers the liquidus temperature. This addition also refines the grain, improves electrical conductivity and increases the alloy’s ductility.

Versatile alloy suitable for brazing copper without the need for flux, mainly used in the refrigeration industry as it is less brittle at low temperatures.

Its composition gives high ductility, excellent fluidity, low melting temperature and excellent resistance to vibration and cold. Also recommended for delicate work.

It can be used on copper alloys (bronze, brass) with our Phosbraz flux.

Rods Ø 1.5 – 2 – 2.5 – 3mm, standard length 500mm. Other dimensions on request. Also available in wire.

Why choose PHOSBRAZ AG50+?

1. 50% silver alloy = excellent wettability and capillarity

  • The significant addition of silver enhances :

    • fluidity of molten metal → excellent capillary penetration

    • wettability on copper and brass

    • cleanliness of the brazed cord

  • Ideal for fine, even and strong assemblies, even on complex parts.

2. Can be used without flux on copper

  • Phosphorus plays a deoxidizing role: it eliminates oxides present on copper → no flux needed for copper ↔ copper brazing.

  • For clean, residue-free welds, highly appreciated in hydraulic and refrigeration systems.

3. Versatility: copper ↔ copper or copper ↔ brass

  • Can be used :

    • fluxless on copper

    • with adapted flux on brass or bronze (to protect zinc)

  • Very useful for mixed assemblies in plumbing, heating or refrigeration.

4. Excellent thermal and electrical conductivity

  • The high silver content guarantees excellent → conductivity suitable for :

    • electrical circuits

    • heat exchangers

    • copper bars or collectors

5. Moderate brazing temperature (~640-720°C)

  • Allows fast, controlled brazing without deforming parts.
