Why choose ABRATIG 347 filler metal?

ABRATIG 347 is a filler metal used for welding stabilized austenitic stainless steels such as 321 and 347.

It contains niobium (Nb), an element that stabilizes steel against intergranular corrosion, especially after exposure to heat (between 400 and 850°C).

Unlike other non-stabilized stainless steels (such as 304 or 316), 347 does not form chromium carbides during welding, thus preventing premature cracking or corrosion.

It is used in demanding applications such as petrochemicals, high-temperature piping and aeronautics.

It contains no added silicon, resulting in a slightly less fluid melt than ABRATIG 347Si, but with better control of the chemical composition.

This makes it a safe, robust and durable choice when welding stabilized stainless steel intended for use in hot or corrosive environments.
