Why choose ABRAFIL AlSi5?
1. Good melt flow
Thanks to its silicon content (~5%), this wire offers superior wettability, facilitating the production of regular, smooth and aesthetic beads. This makes it an excellent choice for visible or decorative welding.
2. Reduced risk of cracking
Silicon improves resistance to hot cracking, particularly on casting alloys or thin, complex parts.
3. Excellent corrosion resistance
ABRAFIL AlSi5 resists oxidation well under normal conditions, although it performs slightly less well than AlMg alloys in marine environments. It is ideally suited to a wide range of industrial and structural applications.
4. Ideal for 4000 and 6000 series alloys
This wire is commonly used for welding alloys such as AlSi10Mg, 6060, 6061, 6082, etc. It is also used for repairing cast aluminum parts.
