Why choose FCW S 309H cored wire?

  • Specific to 309H stainless steels:

    • 309H is a high-temperature-resistant stainless steel with a high carbon content (H = High carbon) for improved creep resistance.

    • 309H flux-cored wire is designed for welding dissimilar steels (e.g. carbon steel + stainless steel) or stainless steels subjected to temperatures > 600°C.

  • Advantages of flat welding only :

    • 309H flux-cored wire for flat welding is optimized for high-speed deposition with controlled penetration.

    • In the flat position, it allows a high deposition rate, which increases productivity, particularly in heavy industry or prefabrication.

  • Excellent resistance to oxidation and heat:

    • The deposited metal resists oxidation up to 1000°C, making it ideal for applications such as boilers, furnaces and heat exchangers.

  • Less deformation than with solid wire:

    • Thanks to better thermal control and a softer arc, flux-cored wire limits stress and therefore the risk of hot cracking or deformation.

  • Very good appearance of the weld bead:

    • Smooth surface, few splashes, little cleaning required – essential in demanding environments.

  • Alloy compatible with non- or low-alloy steels :

    • 309H is often used as a transition metal between mild steels and stainless steels – something the cored wire handles perfectly.

  • Development of self-detachable slag :

    • Facilitates series welding operations, saving time and improving working comfort.
