Hardfacing electrode for cutting tools
Product description
Rutile-base-coated electrode for reconstituting or developing cutting tools for chip removal (exceptional cutting edge quality). Martensitic C-Cr-Mo-V-W deposit. Withstands temperatures up to approx. 500°C.
This electrode is also used for hardfacing parts subject to metal-to-metal wear. Moderately shock-resistant, can only be machined with a grinding wheel in the as-welded condition. For tool machining, heat treatment: anneal at 850°C for 2 hours, then cool slowly (approx. 3°C/min) to obtain hardness, quench the deposit: 1200°C for 1 hour, then quench with oil or compressed air. Possible tempering at 500°C for 1 hour, twice.
Reloading of machining tools, steel cutting tools, punches, drills, shear blades.

Why choose this basic electrode?
Vacuum-packed 5 or 6Kg electrode for welding highly stressed steel assemblies (carbon and carbon manganese) (tensile strength up to 510 MPa).
It features excellent mechanical properties, particularly at low temperatures.
