Why choose ABRATIG G3 filler metal?

Using ABRATIG G3 (also known simply as TIG G3, or ER70S-6 in the AWS standard) means choosing a filler wire for unalloyed steel, very common in TIG welding, for general applications.

  1. Versatility on unalloyed steels

Suitable for welding mild to medium-hard steels, type S235, S275, S355, P235GH, P265GH, etc.

For use on structural steels, boilermaking steels, piping steels, etc.

  1. Composition enriched with silicon and manganese

Approx. 0.95% Mn and 0.95% Si

→ Improves bath deoxidation (very useful in the presence of scale or residual oxides)

→ Produces a cleaner, brighter weld, with less risk of inclusions

Good bath fluidity, facilitates long welds or multiple passes

  1. Mechanical characteristics

Typical tensile strength: ~500-550 MPa

Good toughness, good behavior under moderate stress

Can be used in any position, if well controlled
