Why choose ABRAFIL UP 25.9.4L?

1. High resistance to corrosion (localized and stress)

  • Superduplex combines a high chromium (~25%), molybdenum (~4%), and nitrogen (~0.3%) content → exceptional resistance to :

    • pitting corrosion

    • cavernous corrosion

    • chloride-induced stress cracking

  • Ideal for marine, offshore, desalination and heavy chemical environments.

2. Excellent mechanical properties

  • Thanks to their balanced austenitic-ferritic structure, superduplex welds offer :

    • high yield strength (~550 MPa)

    • excellent tensile and fatigue strength

    • good toughness, even at low temperatures

  • Often enables reduced wall thicknesses compared to austenitic stainless steels.

3. Optimized for submerged welding (SAW)

  • The SAW process, combined with superduplex wire, enables :

    • deep, clean welds

    • high deposit rate (rapid production)

    • very regular welds, ideal for mass production or large assemblies

  • Use with ABF 8.7Sp flux to preserve ferrite/austenite balance.
