Why choose ABRAFIL 317?
-
Excellent corrosion resistance, especially to chlorides:
ABRAFIL 317 contains more molybdenum than ABRAFIL 316L, which significantly improves its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, especially in chloride-ion-rich environments (seawater, saline solutions, etc.). -
Perfect for aggressive chemical environments:
Widely used in the chemical, pharmaceutical and water treatment industries, 317 withstands acidic, oxidizing or highly chlorinated solutions, where ABRAFIL 316L would show its limitations. -
Good mechanical resistance to hot and cold:
It retains its mechanical properties over a wide temperature range, making it reliable for parts subject to thermal variations or extreme conditions. -
Good weldability:
ABRAFIL 317 wire produces clean, homogeneous welds with little risk of cracking or segregation, while maintaining corrosion resistance in the heat-affected zone. -
Compatibility with stainless steels 317, 317L, 316, 316L (in certain cases):
It can be used to weld more “standard” steels (type 316L) when you want to improve the durability or corrosion resistance of joints.
